What is the condition attribute in Merchant Center?
WeAdU · Updated 5 October 2026
The condition attribute `[condition]` says, in Merchant Center, whether the product is new, refurbished, or used.
What does it not name?
It is not availability, which says whether the product can be ordered, not an unavailable page, not a custom label, and not the feed label.

Which values does the help accept?
Help read on 5 October 2026 makes it optional for a new product, and required for a used or refurbished product. Three values, to send in English. New `[new]`: never used, original packaging unopened. Refurbished `[refurbished]`: restored by a professional, looking new, with a warranty. The original packaging may be missing. It is sometimes called remanufactured. This value is not accepted for vehicle ads. Used `[used]`: already used, or changed from the state sold by the manufacturer. Wear, open or missing packaging, customization, repackaging, an autograph, or another change, fall under this value.
Where are these products not shown?
Whatever the campaign type, used and refurbished products are not shown on YouTube organic surfaces or on Discover. They can still run as ads on YouTube, the Google Display Network, and Gmail.
What is checked before sending?
Refurbished products follow the law of the target country and the Shopping rules. Unique product codes (GTIN, MPN, brand) depend on the condition. The pages already live remain the source. A condition mismatch can get the product disapproved. The help recommends automatic item updates: this feature compares the product data values with the value of this attribute, then updates the condition.
