What is a feed label in Merchant Center?
WeAdU · Updated 5 October 2026
A feed label names, in Merchant Center, the product data sources a campaign can advertise together. The help read on 5 October 2026 keeps only one label per Shopping, Demand Gen or Performance Max campaign.
What does it not name?
It is not a custom label, and it is not Shopping campaign priority. The label sorts products in the file. The feed label chooses the source.

What does this label select?
The label decides which sources from the chosen Merchant Center account a campaign can advertise. Sources in the same language can share one label. It is set when the source is created, if advanced data source management is on. After that, the language and the label stay fixed.
The campaigns that can carry it are standard Shopping, Smart Shopping, Demand Gen and Performance Max. One label is kept per campaign. Other campaign types stay on the country of sale.
If only one label exists, the choice may not appear when a campaign is created in Merchant Center.
Allowed characters: capitals, digits, hyphen, underscore, and no space.
| Point | Rule |
|---|---|
| When | Source creation, advanced management on |
| After that | Language and label stay fixed |
| Campaigns | Standard Shopping, Smart Shopping, Demand Gen, Performance Max |
| Other types | Country of sale |
| Hidden choice | Possible when only one label exists |
What remains of country of sale?
Before, products entered campaigns through the country of sale. A label can keep that grouping. On an older campaign, the label takes the country code of the original primary country of sale. A campaign can still use a label or a country of sale. The merchant chosen when the campaign is created does not change afterwards.
Where is the catalogue already described?
Homepage, Automate step, read on 5 October 2026: "Daily product classification, custom label updates, and feed maintenance." The Performance Max structure article linked below remains the catalogue source. This entry does not rewrite it.
What does the WeAdU audit cover?
